Mr. Lalit Mudra

Lalit has over 31 years’ experience in all aspects of financial services industry. Highly enterprising, prompt decision maker with strong business acumen and entrepreneurship skills. He has a rich knowledge on Capital Market and handling High Net worth Investors, Retail Investors.

His organizational experience includes working from 1990-97 as Operations Head of Suresh Rathi & Co. and from 1997 till date, as Director of Suresh Rathi Securities Pvt. Ltd. Lalit has been instrumental in establishing network of retail outlets equipped with over 135 Sub-broker, 10 Branches spread over to 25 cities catering to over 40,000 investors providing financial products and services.

Lalit is currently on the advisory committee of BSE. In past he has been on various committees like BSE’s Computer & Technology Development Committee (2000-01) and prestigious Market Operation Committee (2001-2002). He has been elected as Chairman of ANMI WIRC for 2010-11 and again for 2015-16, elected as Director of ANMI (Association of National Exchange Members of India) for the year 2011-12, elected as Director of ANMI for the year 2016-17, elected as Committee Member ANMI WIRC in 2018 and elected on the BBF Governing Board and being a part of the BBF executive committee.

Mario Takeno is Vice Chairman and Senior Managing Director of the Japan Securities Dealers Association, concurrently serving as its Chief Operating Officer for Securities Strategy Board.

Previously, Mr. Takeno worked for the Ministry of Finance from 1979 to 2001, where he served in the Budget Bureau as a Director for the Defense Budget. Afterwards, he joined the Japan Financial Services Agency (FSA) as part of the Supervision Bureau, serving as Director of the Banking Business Division II, which is in charge of Regional Banks, in 2001 and Director of the Banking Business Division I, which is in charge of Major Banks, in 2003. He also worked as Director of the General Coordination Division at the Planning and Coordination Bureau from 2005 to 2007, before moving on to become Deputy Director-General of the Planning and Coordination Bureau, overseeing securities market policy. In 2010, Mr. Takeno became the Secretary-General of the Securities and Exchange Surveillance Commission, a position he fulfilled for three years. More recently, prior to joining the JSDA, he served as Advisor to the Sumitomo Corporation from 2013 to 2015.

Dipesh Shah has over 20 years of professional experience in International Business, Project Development, Corporate Affairs, Corporate Law & Policy matters.

His most prominent achievement includes setting up and operationalizing India’s 1st Smart City and International Financial Services Centre (IFSC).

Before joining IFSCA in Dec 2020, in his last 12 years, tenure at GIFT City, City made substantial progress in getting recognition as India’s model Smart City, starting India’s first Multi Services SEZ and only approved International Financial Services Centre. He brought in the regulatory and business changes in the GIFT IFSC to bring in Banks, International Exchanges (Inaugurated by Hon’ble Prime Minister of India) and Insurance & re-insurance companies for undertaking offshore transactions

As Executive Director, he now heads the Development Division at IFSCA. Dipesh is a Bachelor of Commerce and is Chartered Secretary from Institute of Company Secretaries of India (ICSI) & Institute of Chartered Secretaries & Administrators, UK and has Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management (PGDM – MBA) from Nirma University, India with specialization in International Business & Finance. He is currently pursuing his Doctoral Program (PHD) in International Financial Services Centre (IFSC).

Position: Vice Commissioner for International Affairs, Financial Services Agency, Government of Japan

ARIIZUMI Shigeru is Vice Commissioner for International Affairs of the Japan Financial Services Agency (JFSA).

Before assuming his current position in July 2021, he has held various key positions at the JFSA. During Japan’s G20 Presidency in 2019, he served as Deputy Commissioner for International Affairs and led the JFSA team on financial sector issues. He has also worked as Director in charge of supervising Japanese megabanks and investment banks as well as foreign financial institutions in Japan.

Entering the Japanese Ministry of Finance (JMOF) in 1988, he has also assumed pivotal positions at JMOF. Before assuming his current role, he was Senior Deputy Director General at the International Bureau and was the G7 and G20 Finance Deputy’s Deputy, working on pressing global issues.

He holds a Bachelor degree in law from the University of Tokyo and a Master degree from Harvard Law School. He has passed the Bar examination in Japan as well as in the State of New York.

Mr. Atsushi Tomiyama is Principal economist of Japan Center for Economic Research (JCER). He oversees JCER’s mid-term forecast of Asian economy (18 countries,2021-2035). Prior to current position, He had worked for Nikkei newspaper as a staff writer for 25 years. He interviewed many Asian politicians and entrepreneurs in Southeast Asia. From 2014 to 2018 he assigned to Hanoi bureau chief.

Mr. Tomiyama has also known as a Vietnamese language researcher in Japan. He published two books and explain practical Vietnamese for Japanese learner.

Kapil Patidar is Deputy Secretary in Financial Markets Division of Department of Economic Affairs, Ministry of Finance. Currently, he is handling the Primary Market Branch of Financial Markets Division.

Prior to join the Government in 2011, he was working with the Reserve Bank of India. Since 2011, he is a member of Indian Economic Service. Initially, he was handling the policy matter related to fiscal and monetary policy. From 2014-18, he worked in office of Chief Economic Adviser and was handling various policy matters including financial and capital market, monetary and fiscal policy.

In 2018, he took study leave to pursue his interest in Economic and International Development. As a Fulbright and JJ/WBGSP scholar, he completed a Master in Public Administration in International Development from the Harvard University.

His research interest includes money, finance, and fiscal-monetary co-ordination.

Chintan joined IPRUAMC as a management trainee in the investments team as part of the Equity & Derivatives Trading Desk. He went on to become lead analyst for Oil & Gas Sector while he successfully managed portfolios including ICICI Prudential Arbitrage Fund, ICICI Prudential Long Term Equity Fund (Tax Fund), ICICI Prudential Childcare Gift, ICICI Prudential Equity Savings Fund. Currently, Prerna leads the Financial Investors Initiative, Infrastructure, Real Estate and Energy verticals at Invest India, the National Investment Promotion and Facilitation Agency of India. Her focus has been on attracting institutional investors such as Sovereign Wealth Funds, Pension Funds and Private Equity to invest in India. Prerna contributed to India’s first asset recycling project which saw investments of $1.5 Billion and has been working with Government and private entities across sectors to introduce new asset classes and create investment opportunities in the country in the infrastructure space including rolling stock PPP and opportunities in the distressed space amongst others. She has previously worked with General Electric and Ernst & Young.

Lakshmi Iyer heads fixed income and products team at KMAMC. She has been with the organisation for over 20 years.

Joining KMAMC in 1999 as a fund manager, Lakshmi was responsible for credit research, deal execution, managing fund performance across all debt funds and assisting sales in client interaction. In addition to that, she has been a portfolio specialist, and managed product related initiatives such as product pricing and coordination with the funds management and sales team in that role.

Prior to joining Kotak, Lakshmi worked with Credence Analytics Pvt Ltd, as a research analyst where she was tracking corporate bond markets in India and generating research reports. She was also instrumental in conceiving various financial software tools in collaboration with software and technical teams.

Lakshmi holds an MBA degree in finance from Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies.

She loves exploring new places for travelling, is a big food lover, and is an ardent movie buff.

Mr. KURIHARA (Toshi) Toshihiko is Chief Representative of Japan Bank for International Cooperation (JBIC), Representative Office in New Delhi and covers all JBIC operations and geopolitical research mainly in India, also Nepal, Bhutan, Maldives and Sri Lanka. He is also a Director of the Board, National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation, which is both India-Japan government-based development entity for all-across-Indian industrial corridors. Over his two-decade banking career, he has held various positions within JBIC and mainly engaged in wide range of banking operations from project financing to treasury and comptroller.

His group publishes various benchmarks for the Mutual Fund industry including CRISIL Mutual Fund Ranking, security level valuations and fixed income & hybrid indices.

Devin is the scion of the Narang Group, one of the oldest Industrial groups in India. The group had interest in distilling, brewing, Sugar, Banking and Insurance. Ryo Takagi is a Head at Global strategy Department based in Tokyo, Japan. He is mainly exploring the opportunities to business collaborations with overseas stock exchanges.

Prior to his current role, Mr. Takagi was Senior Vice President was responsible for developing listing rules for structured financial products, such as ETFs, ETNs, closed-end funds etc. as well as promoting these structured financial products. Since joining Tokyo Stock Exchange (TSE) in 2002, Mr. Takagi has served in several positions spanning many different departments. Mr. Takagi previously belonged to IT Development Department and developed a trading system called “arrowhead” for equity products. And he was also responsible for leading the development of trading rules and regulations for equity products in Stock Market Department.

V. Bala is the founding Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of India International Exchange (IFSC) Limited (India INX), the first International Exchange from India in GIFT City International Financial Services Centre Special Economic Zone which started its operations from January, 2017 and a subsidiary of BSE (Asia's first stock exchange). He also holds board position in the following organisations:

• India International Clearing Corporation (IFSC) Limited.
• India INX Global Access IFSC Limited
• India International Bullion Holding IFSC limited
• India International Bullion Exchange IFSC Limited

In addition to the above, he is also a member of following committees of IFSCA:

Prior to this, he was the Chief Business Officer of BSE heading the business development encompassing all business segments viz. Equities, Equity Derivatives, Debt, Interest Rate Futures, Currency Derivatives, Mutual Fund Distribution platform and SME platform. In addition to the markets business, he was also responsible for the listings and data business of BSE and managing the entire trading operations and membership operations.

He has over 25 years of experience in the Capital Markets industry and has previously worked with Reliance Group as Vice President and was also as co-founder of BSE Technologies Private Limited which was acquired by BSE.

He was also part of the core team involved in setting up the National Stock Exchange of India. He was instrumental in creating the Capital Market segment, Nifty Index creation, setup of NSCCL as the first clearing corporation in India, NCFM certification creation and the Futures and Options segment inter-alia.

He has served in the board of Central Depository Services (India) Limited, Futures Industry Association – Asia, Co-Chair of FICCI Capital Market Committee etc.

He has Masters in Commerce from the University of Mumbai, Rank holder from the Institute of Cost Accountants of India, Diploma from Institute of Chartered Financial Analysts of India and is a Certified Information Systems Auditor.
